Firefighter Walker Isaac de Sousa was in a medical emergency unit in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, when he realised that a deaf patient was finding it hard to communicate with the triage nurse.
He offered to help and not only aided the patient right then, but also went with her to the doctor. Although he is not deaf or hearing impaired, this firefighter is interested in sign language.

O bombeiro Walker Isaac de Sousa estava em uma unidade de pronto-atendimento de Ribeirão Preto, no Brasil, quando percebeu que uma paciente surda tinha dificuldades de se comunicar com o enfermeiro que fazia a triagem.
Ele ofereceu ajuda e, além de auxiliar a paciente nesse primeiro momento, também a acompanhou no atendimento médico. O bombeiro, que não tem surdez ou deficiência auditiva, se interessa pela língua de sinais.
