During an online class, the teacher saves student’s grandmother who had a stroke

Teacher Julia Koch, from Michigan, in the United States, was getting ready to give an online class when she heard one of her students was having difficulties connecting her tablet. To help her, she decided to call the girl’s grandmother, on the telephone.

As she was conveying instructions on the connection, the teacher realised the woman’s voice was not normal and recognised the signs of a stroke: “I knew the symptoms because I had lost my father to a stroke, so I told her to hold on and I immediately called for help”.

Julia got in touch with the school principal who contacted the emergency services. The grandmother was treated by the fire department and taken to hospital. “I would have died if the teacher had not been so quick to find help. I thank God for not having died in front of my grandchildren”, said the grandmother.
