Between February 23rd and 26th, more than 3,000 young Jews from 30 countries gathered in New York to participate in the CTeen International Summit. The event is organized by Chabad to promote a sense of belonging among Jewish youth.
Each year the event has a different theme. This year's was “Meant2B”, whose aim is to encourage young people to find the positive side even in life's challenging situations. For this, speakers told moments of their personal lives that involved challenges and overcoming - strengthening the debate on mental health.
The teens also visited Jewish attractions in Brooklyn such as synagogues, matzah factory, mikvah and the headquarters of the Chabad movement. After Shabbat, they participated in a show in Times Square.
“This Shabbaton is a vital opportunity for Jewish teenagers to connect to their Jewish identity with pride and unity, realizing they are part of the global Jewish community,” said Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, and Chairman of CTeen International. “The Rebbe always emphasized the power of the youth to transform the world. We hope this Shabbaton will be the catalyst for positive transformation across the globe.”

Shabbaton do Chabad reúne mais de 3 mil jovens judeus em Nova York
Entre os dias 23 e 26 de fevereiro, mais de 3 mil jovens judeus de 30 países se reuniram em Nova York para participar do CTeen International Summit. O evento é organizado pelo Chabad e tem como objetivo promover um sentimento de pertencimento entre os jovens judeus.
O evento tem um tema diferente a cada edição. O deste ano foi o “Meant2B”, visando incentivar os jovens a encontrar o lado positivo mesmo nas situações desafiadoras da vida. Para isso, os palestrantes contaram momentos de suas vidas pessoais que envolveram desafios e superações - fortalecendo o debate sobre saúde mental.
Os adolescentes também visitaram atrações judaicas no Brooklyn, como sinagogas, fábrica de matzah, mikvah e a sede do movimento Chabad. Após o Shabat, participaram de um show na Times Square.
“Este Shabbaton é uma oportunidade vital para os adolescentes judeus se conectarem à sua identidade judaica com orgulho e unidade, percebendo que fazem parte da comunidade judaica global”, disse o rabino Moshe Kotlarsky, vice-presidente da Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch e presidente da CTeen Internacional. “O Rebe sempre enfatizou o poder da juventude para transformar o mundo. Esperamos que este Shabbaton seja o catalisador para uma transformação positiva em todo o mundo”.
