The news is not recent but is still being shared on social media as an example of empathy and concern. Professor Sydney Engelberg, who teaches Philosophy and Psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was photographed by students while giving a class and holding a student’s baby.
When interviewed, Engelberg said that he was not sure of the period when the photograph was taken, as many of his students have to bring their children into the classroom. There is a simple explanation: national military service is mandatory for all Israeli citizens, so often students go to university at a later age, many of them with small children.
